bird poop...

My hubby was outside doing some watering as I was rushing out the door to work this morning (nothing unusual there). I stopped to chat for a second about the usual day to day stuff and started to get in my car to leave…

That’s when I noticed it…

Right there, front and center, smack dab in the middle of my windshield was a special delivery from a fine feathered friend. As I said, I was running late and there was no way I had time to go inside and grab some paper towels and Windex. So I did the next best thing…I frantically started hitting the windshield wiper fluid button and wiping away.

You know that never works…

Just as I am backing out of the driveway resigned to the fact that I will be making it through the day staring at bird poop spread across my windshield, out comes dear hubby waiving a towel…

He noticed it, too.

I gotta tell you…seeing him come through the back gate in his flip flops, faded jeans and T-shirt made my heart flutter. Isn’t it the littlest things that remind us of why we stay together through it all?

Anyone who’s been married a while knows what I’m talking about. Marriage takes patience (by both parties), forgiveness (by both parties) and a whole lotta prayer (again, by both parties).

I’m just curious, what has your man done lately that made your heart flutter? And remember, this is a family show…lol!

Blessings from this old married woman,

Patty

Patty,
Cute post. Mr. Tennis came home the other night with a little birdhouse for my garden. He was in the Dollar General getting this and that, that he needed, and announced when he came in, "present for Mommy." Sweet!

Hey Patty,
My tomato plants really are ginormous this year! lol I just sprayed them with miracle grow every once in a while. My green beans didn't do squat this year though. :( I was really wanting a lot of those for my freezer or canning. (I haven't canned them before and I wanted to try..boo hoo) Oh well, I have tomatoes, onions, carrots, cucumbers and lots of peppers! :) (I had lettuce, but we ate it all!) OH and you are too kind saying I look good without make-up...sigh..I sure don't look like I'm in my 20's anymore though. Oh well. :)
I love your post today! My honey is so wonderful all the time...he must be, he puts up with me! lol He goes out of his way to help me, even when he's come in from a 14 hour day at work. He just does so many little things that I couldn't even begin to list them all. :) The sweetest thing he's said lately though was when I was talking about wanting a silhouette cutter. I was jabbering about how my heart just swelled at the thought of having one, and he said, "well why don't you go buy yourself one, you deserve it". :) I didn't go buy it cause they're horribly expensive, but just knowing he thought I deserved one, made my heart swell more than getting one. :) (I still want one though! LOL) Oh well...maybe someday.
Have a great rest of the week and I hope you don't have anymore bird poop come your way. :)
Love ya much
Missy

Sweet story! And such cute photos! My hubby does things like that all the time. Just when you think they aren't paying attention, they show that they are!

I love hearing that your hubby still makes your heart flutter. That was so sweet of him. Mine just gets more thoughtful with age. I don't know if you read my "Will you accept this rose?" story, but he has never liked roses or rose bushes, but I have one that he has been tending all summer. He slips in and puts a fresh rose in a vase on my kitchen counter every few days.
I loved your pictures. Is that your kitchen. Love that banner. Did you do that? It is so clever and different from those I've been seeing.

Hi Patty. Aww, how sweet of your hubby. It's those little sweet things. Mine just worked a double shift so I can go shopping at my favorite antique mall. He also wants to drive me there, after taking a nap. It's an hour away. It's not even my birthday!!

What a wonderful post :-) My husband is always doing little things for me. Like I'll get home from work and find he has done the laundry or vacuumed (he's retired) so I can have a relaxing evening.

My sweetie is so continually wonderful to and patient with my family. And he makes the best fruit salads all summer long, without being asked.

Love your post! I'm so fortunate to have a hubby that's always thinking of me! Recently while waiting for friends at a restaurant/bar he suggested we trade places so if he looked at the TV for the game scores he wouldn't be looking "away" from me. I thought that was sweet. :-)

I read this yesterday and while I couldn't think of anything he had done to "wow" me lately, I couldn't think of anything I had done for him either. So I stopped on my way home after work yesterday and bought him a bottle of Chat-en-Oeuf Rose - his favourite. Thanks for the reminder Patty; it's easy to forget teh little things that make such a difference in our marriages!

Ha! I have had bird poop on my windshield all week and yes, I did try the windshield spray technique which did not help. I keep forgetting to clean it until I get in the car and am in a hurry. Perhaps, YES, I WILL, go out now and do it. Thanks for the reminder.

My hubby does not have to do anything for me to love him, really! Just being here.....is great.

Ok, I cleaned it off. Love your teapot and the little tag hanger thing---where did you get that cute thing?

What a lovely blog you hvae here Patty, I love all your colors, being a fan of red. My family is always hearing me say, "it's the little things that mean so much." My sweetie put up homeade peach jam and homemade salsa from our own garden tomatoes this weekend. Today from the garden he made pasta sauce to freeze for those nights when a quick meal is needed.
