I started this snowball quilting project with my mom and sister in law a couple of months ago (my idea of course) thinking it would be so easy to get a couple of quilt squares done a week and then by the end of summer we could have a little quilting party and exchange squares and assembly our quilt tops so that we would have them all finished when the weather cools this fall...
Clever thinking, huh?
I got off to a gang buster start but somewhere in June I got distracted (no surprise there)...
I don't know if anyone else noticed but it's mid-July...
I'm even starting to see Christmas posts!
So I've decided I better leave my decorating ideas brewing in head for a bit and start sewing...I pulled out my reproduction fabrics...stacked them all pretty and now I'm inspired.
Sometimes that's all it takes for me.
What about you...what inspires you to get going? I'd love to hear...
Blessings,
Patty

I love you vintage fabrics. Looks like it will be beautiful when you are finished.
Your blog is still doing the same thing when I leave a comment. It scrolls up when I start tp type. It is only your blog and it is every time. Not sure what it is. It does it 2x's then it will stay so I can type.
I would love to get involved in something like that. I know it will be pretty and warm.
That is such a great idea, to do things with mom and sister, I wish I could do that. By the way, I love your wall decoration and window treatment too! Thanks for sharing!
Patty I get inspired to create when I see what other people are doing and then seeing their supplies all laid out just fires me up to get mine out and see what I can come up with...

Hi Patty, the fabrics are so, so pretty. How lovely your project will be.
I am inspired by the things that surround me in my studio. I love lots of color, ribbons, fabrics, trims, and tons of paint. I also love really good crafting magazines.
This post has inspired me!!!!!

Hello Patty,
I do love quilting, but with the kids home in summer, it is sometimes hard to get inspired to be creative ;-) I am planning on taking a knitting class next month once school starts again.
I love your vintage fabrics. I love to quilt, but am not sewing now due to the fact that my whole upstairs is being repainted and re-arranged. I am actually getting a larger room to use for my sewing room/office. With all this going on, I can't sew now. My inspiration is having my new room to sew in sometime later this fall. Can't wait to see your blocks. Love & blessings from NC!
Arghhhhhhhhhhh...it's mid July?
Buying fabric, browsing for fabric and seeing fabric makes me want to start something every time.
Yes,I like to all it the high summer lull!
Maybe it's the heat, or just the need for some real rest that my available energy in mid- July is low at best... but that's alrigt! Rest and renewal go hand in hand...Sometimes just rearangeing things or clearing a corner can get me inspired to begin something new... especially if I keep my eyes away from the things I still need to finish!
Hey, it's fun to start and not alway as easy to finish!
Love your fabrics and the cheer bright colors you have in your home!
