Do you have your coffee poured, yet? Cuz we're going for a stroll...
I've got mine...inhale deeply...mmm...
Oh yeah, even deeper sigh...
My columbines have begun to bloom...
aren't they beautiful?
I remember when I brought them home. They were a couple of six packs of the sorriest looking plants, certainly nothing special.
But I knew what promise they held...
The flowers appear so fragile but they can survive whatever the winter throws at them...
and return even stronger in the spring.
Kind of like the heart of a Christ follower...
rather ordinary, nothing special to look at...
until the bloom of Christ comes upon us.
It is then that our true beauty shines through...
with the strength to withstand whatever our personal winters might bring...
Are you going through a season of winter right now? Hold on to the promise that it is only temporary...don't give up...cling to faith...seek beauty in the ordinary.
"That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly out weighs them and will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Have a blessed weekend,

Dear Patty, thank you for this Blessing. It's like you wrote this post just for me. I love your flowers and your words showered the right places of my heart.
Thank you!

Patty,
Thanks for stopping by. This was a picture from the net, but I will posting my window boxes soon! Waiting for alittle bit of a warmup this afternoon, then I will be happily digging in the soil :)

:) I smiled at the beginning of your post. I made a pot of coffee when I first woke up. Then I sat down and started reading Spiritual Sunday posts. I got so engrossed... I forgot all about it! And that's amazing... I usually can't do anything with out that first cup!
Have a great week!
An excellent post! I love how you tied it all together. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Sandi
columbines are one of my favorites! thank you for sharing this lovely post today!
What lovely flowers you have. This was a great post with such a good reminder. We do need to keep our gaze fixed on things to come in our eternity with Him. Have a wonderful Sunday...BLESSSINGS, Debbie
What a wonderful post and beautiful pictures to go with it. Thank you for sharing your insights with us....God bless.
This is so true. The older I get the more I realize how really short this life is. I've also noticed that the body gets old and worn out, but the spirit does not. I think that is amazing.
Blessings,
Charlotte

Beautiful analogy! It's 8 P.M and I had my coffee this morning but made some more while I read tonight. Columbines are a favorite flower of mine.I loved this scripture.

No coffee right now. I have just returned from worship and also lunch. But with the thoughts of the morning worship service still in my head I have looked over your post and your beautiful flowers and I am impressed with your good words. Thank you for another moment of inspiration. This is a great day.
Such beautiful flowers, Patty! I am jealous. :)

Hi Patty! This is such a beautiful post! This weekend after my granddaughters left to go back home, I worked in a very neglected flower bed...I have walked through a "winter" of my life for two years. God has seen me through it though and I am grateful! The valleys that we sometimes walk through are painful but the refiner's fire is greatly needed! :)
Hugs to you! Carolyn
