Good news...I found my mojo...woo...hoo!!! And it seems I'm making up for lost time. My funky old mood has left (good riddance) and I have plenty of energy to finally get some things done.
I've decided to finally tackle my sunroom. It was one of the things that sold us on this house and it has sat untouched, except for storage, for nearly three years. Once I decided on the function...it will be my own little retreat for bible study and reading nook...and the color scheme of Celedon blue and red, things just started catching my eye everywhere I went...so I've been collecting odds and ends, here and there.
It's a long way from any kind of big reveal but I just had to show you what I've been working on...
I found this not so pretty, (all right, ugly) nightstand at Goodwill for $9.00. Gave it a light sanding and a couple of coats of KILZ primer before painting it this beautiful shade of Celadon blue. I have to tell you, I just love this paint color.
I am still looking for just the right handles so in the mean time I just painted over the old brass ones in the same shade of blue...
I decided what reading nook would be complete without a coffee bar...
The cups were another Goodwill purchase...
the tray was purchased a few years ago in old town Temecula here in Southern California...
the flowers in the thriftstore creamer were snipped fresh from the garden...I found the cheese tray and dome at a garage sale last weekend for a couple of dollars and just gave it a few coats of the same blue paint....
the polka dot dessert plate is from Target...my grandson and I made the cupcake last night...

There will always be an extra chair for company...so if your in the neighborhood, I've love to have you stop by for a little visit.

I wanna come for a visit and use all your pretty new stuff! :-)
I LOVE that color on your coffee bar (previously known as the ugly nightstand), I think it's gonna be lovely in your sunroom. I wish I had a sunroom...but I'll settle for my patio outback with my privacy fence. :) I'm very grateful for my new privacy fence. I never did blog about that did I? hmmmm.... a new idea for a post! lol
Hope you have a great day and your flowers look beautiful!
Love ya
Missy (oh and I smiled really big when you called me sweet in your post above)....ah shucks, that was nice! :-)
Love the new paint! It looks SO much better!
Polka dots and daisies ... it has summer written all over it!
that was darling!
I am happy for you that you found your mojo! YAY!!!! Thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures!
GIRL! I can't believe you let a perfectly good sunroom sit for 3 years. I want a sunroom so bad I can't stand it. I LOVE your coffee bar and the nightstand painted blues is perfect. And is that an old window you put handles and feet on? You are one crafty girl. I wish I lived closer. We would have tea and coffe all the time. :)
Hugs,
Heather
Beautiful redo. Lovely shade of blue. You got some good deals there. I really like the nightstand. What time should I be there? (wishing)
I love the new nightstand. What brand of paint was that Celadon Blue? Thank you for giving me the idea of putting a coffee bar in a sunroom. Mine sunroom isn't built - yet. But plans are on the way. Installing the door out to it in couple of weeks, yeah!
I just love all the colors and can't wait till you reveal it.
Oh what fun. I really love your coffee bar! Those red polka dot plates are fabulous. I really like that shade of blue, too.
That blue is my new favorite color. LOVE LOVE LOVE it all.
I love your color choices! That blue is perfect. You've got that put together so pretty. I saw your strawberry purchases on your recent post. I just bought a couple of strawberry mugs and canister recently at a thrift store. I think I have a new addiction.
It's a great transformation, the new color is perfect.
Hugs

Oh, hey, I am on my way over! Love the blue. Love the coffee and love books! Just add a little cinnamon for my cuppa!
Love that color blue! I have got to keep my eyes open for cheese domes!!
Your turquoise & red color combinations are so young & hip & fresh looking! I need to think out of the box like that more often.
I bought 2 little cheese trays recently & have been debating what color to paint at least one of them. I'm leaning towards the creamy white all of blogville uses, but black is tempting me, too. Yours turned out great!
I love color and your color scheme is just so fresh and pretty. I have always done reds greens and yellows but I love the red with that aqua blue. Kind of a vintage feel. A great project that is coming together nicely.

What a pretty spot to do Bible study and read! Aqua blue is one of my favourite colours so I'm lovin your new paint job! Love the polka dot plate and your sweet touches of red too. Thanks for sharing.

Can't wait to see the sunroom! I love those 1930-1940 - pastels. You made the right color choices. And everyone needs their own coffee bar!
Well done. All looks very nice, fresh and neat. I love this picture with the napkin. What a beautiful design and the fork is so pretty.
Greetings, Johanna
