June gloom in late July...

We've settled into what Californian's affectionately call June gloom...

Overcast mornings in the 60's...

Mild afternoon's in the 80's...

It's nearly August so I'm definitely not complaining...

and neither are the flowers as they enjoy a little reprieve from our triple digit temperatures of a couple weeks ago.

My hubby even managed to put in a new orange tree...with a peach and a plum to follow in the weeks to come...I think I heard him even say something about a chicken coop...Be still my heart!

I did manage to catch a few things blooming...

What's blooming in your neighborhood?

Blessings,
Patty

Patty,
That last photo is so pretty! Very hot and humid in Illinois. I am sure we will all be ready for fall :)

Patty, not much blooming here! It will be hot here in Orlando until about Dec. or January. This is the hottest summer I remember in 20 years.

Just gorgeous Patty, your photos capture the true essence of a garden in a hot zone. I remember when I first moved to Texas, I was in awe of how fast things grew and how big they got. My mother actually had a poinsettia "tree" in the front yard. Up until then I had only seen tiny little guys in pots at Christmas.
Now here in upstate New York things grow a little slower...:)

Sixties and eighties sounds real good to me. Our temps are 80 in the morning and nearing 100 in the afternoon. Your flowers look great.

Ahh, that weather sounds perfect. It's brutally hot and humid down here in Texas. Congratulations on your orange tree and your blooms look lovely.

Look at your pretty garden, I am drooling here in the desert. Hope to see your orange tree soon!
About the tissue paper flower, I actually hold it down right in the middle while I "scratch" it to get the ruffle edge! Hope this help! : )

I agree that clouds look pretty welcome on a hot July day! I just love your summer flowers. And a coop--oh my--what an adventure!

I don't even want to hear about your nice weather! LOL It is so hot here. High 90's to 100. I need a break!
I would love a lemon, peach, and whatever fruit tree I could have. That would be awesome if you had chickens. You know their poop is the best fertilizer for your flowers. You just let those girls run around and instant fertilizer! :)

An orange tree! I keep forgetting you can grow them there - the winters here are too cold for any citrus. My herbs are what's blooming in my garden right now so I braved the already-hot-morning sun and picked some from drying. Your flowers are so pretty! I struggle with flowers but not with herbs - thank goodness they flower so I pick them and put them in little vases!

My black eyed susans are blooming and some other plant that I have no idea what it is but it is gorgeous. I really should take a pic and post it on my blog to see if someone knows.
