peek a boo...

I keep reading posts about sweltering heat, and those dog days of summer but I gotta tell ya, not here in Southern California.  In fact these 70's and 80's the first week in July have me kind of worried about what our September and October are going to be like.
Needless to say, the weather for the weekend of the 4th was absolutely perfect.

This is my beautiful mom and my sweet SIL, enjoying a visit on the front porch...

Stay with me through these next few...indulge this smitten granny for a minute or two...

I made this patriotic throw from some fabric I found in the remnant bin at Joannes...the pillows were clearance  at Walmart.   I thought this might be a nice place to sit and visit after dinner.  You'll notice the two small chairs for Andrew and Emily...

Doesn't Emily look mighty comfy as she watches Andrew start a game of peek a boo...

Never one to be outdone by her older, (by 7 months) cousin, she joins in...

To which he says, "Hey, all this playing has tired me out...follow me, let me show you what grandma made us."

"Now this is what I'm talkin' bout..."

"What'll ya give me if I jump on him and wake him up?"

To which Bear replies, "Everybody off...you know she made this for me!

Hope you all had a blessed, family filled (including canine) holiday.

Patty

Hi Patty! :-)
You're right...you can't go wrong with cheesecake, chocolate AND strawberries! LOL (all of which, I KNOW will be in Heaven!)
Your grandbabies are adorable!! That curly hair and eyes on Emily are just too sweet! She looks like she could keep right up with any boy cousin out there. :) They are so so precious! It looks like you had a wonderful 4th of July...we did too. :) We had a big celebration at our church with grilling and games and fireworks. (put on by our county..our church backs up to the park where they set them off...very blessed!)
I'm jealous of your temps in CA...we're in the upper 90's in KY with TONS of humidity...oppressive to say the least! We're going on vacation real soon though and I can hear the ocean calling my name. :) I CAN'T wait!
Oh, your little red table turned out OH SO CUTE! Can't wait to show you Carson's built-ins all finished...I'm almost done! Yippee! :)
Have a great week my friend
blessings and hugs
Missy :)

Thanks for your recent visit and kind comments. I'm so glad you took the time to introduce yourself so that I could come & visit your blog home.
I have just been scrolling through your posts and totally enjoyed my visit. I just love your front porch. I would enjoy sitting out there enjoying coffee. Your grandchildren are adorable. Also, the cards you make are so cute. I admire your talents and will be back to visit soon.

How adorable! Thanks for stopping by! I remember when living in Southern California that the weather seemed perfect! I just came from letting the dog out and it is still hot outside! We need a break and some rain. Glad someone has a pleasant (tempered) summer,
Kathy
