tea time giveaway and Monday's encouragement...

Happy Monday...The weekend is behind us and we have a fresh new start to a fresh new week.

I mentioned a few posts ago that I would be having a giveaway to thank you all for stopping by and listening to my ramblings and for being so sweet with your encouraging words.  I really wanted to offer something that was from the heart so I went through my fabric stash, my handmade cards and my thrift store treasures...Hope you like what I've come up with...

I made this cute apron out of some Debbie Mumm teapot fabric I bought a couple of years ago...

It has two deep pockets and I made the tie long enough so that you can wrap it around and tie it off in the front...

I saw some cute ric rac napkins at Pier 1 and knew I could make some for a fraction of the cost.  I call these "everyday come to supper" napkins because they are made out of inexpensive tea towels and are not standard size.

I found a pair of these teacups at a thrift store for $5.00.  I thought I'd share one of them with you...

They are numbered and have a mark on them...I know nothing about china, I just buy what I think is pretty.

And finally a couple of cards for you to share with a friend...

As for Monday's encouragement...
This thought, (in one form or another) has really been on my heart...
How can I best use what I have been blessed with to bless others?  Am I using my God given gifts and abilities in a way that is pleasing to God?

So, here's what I've come up with...

Every Monday I will be posting a card or two or a small handmade creation and inviting you to leave me a comment saying that you know someone in your life that could use an encouraging word...no details required, just a comment.  I will draw a name and contact you by email and get the address and whatever details you care to share and I will add them to my prayer list for the week and I will send out the card with whatever scripture or encouragement you want me to include.  That's it...nothing terribly original or earth shattering...just a small way that I can share a smidgen of what God has blessed me with.

Since this is a new concept for me, please allow for some tweaking along the way...

Here is this weeks card for Monday's encouragement...

I know there's a lot going on in this post and I hope you stayed with me up to this point...

Okay class, let's review, there will be a quiz...

For the anniversary giveaway...
Just leave a comment and I'll enter you once...
Be a follower (and let me know you are) and I'll enter you again...
Mention this post on your blog (and let me know you did) and I'll enter you a third time...

Now, for Monday's encouragement...
Just leave a comment saying "I know someone who needs to be encouraged"...

The contest and Monday's encouragement will close Sunday - 6/13/2010, 12:00 a.m. Pacific time.

Let me leave you with this thought from Oswald Chambers, "Am I allowing my spiritual life to be frittered away, or am I bringing it all to one center-the Atonement of my Lord?  Is Jesus Christ more and more dominating every interest in my life?  If one central point, the great exerting influence in my life is the Atonement of the Lord, then every phase of my life will bear fruit for Him."

Blessings sweet blogging friends,
Patty

What a sweet little apron! I love that card too. Boy do I ever know someone who needs to be encouraged! I have a friend who is going through a very ugly divorce, with barely any support from her family. Her mother has basically disowned her. So I am trying to be there for her as much as I can!
