fresh from the oven...

This burst of cooler weather has me thinking about baking...

A few weeks ago I saw this post from Kim over at Daisy cottage, on a scrumptious looking banana nut bread...
I don't know about you but it seems we always have a banana or two a little on the too ripe side...
This weekend I snagged three of them and decided to try out the recipe...
I love it when I have all the ingredients on hand.

It wasn't long until the house started smelling heavenly...

And before you know it (okay...an hour later) this is what came out of the oven...

And yes, it tastes as good as it looks!

Happy Tuesday,
Patty

girlfriend, you are making me hungry! :) I haven't had breakfast and it's almost time for lunch and now my mouth is watering! lol Looks yummy!
You commented on my pantry...it's just a small closet sized one, but it does hold a lot! The wire thing that the jars are in, is actually an over the door organizer for vhs tapes.. don't use those anymore, so it went in the pantry! :) It holds so much...all those little packets of taco mix, muffin mix, jello boxes etc...it's wonderful! (makes you wish you had two doors so you could double your storage! LOL
I do wish we lived closer, I would def come help you organize your pantry! :) I want to re-do mine in the near future. The people that lived here before us painted it a VERY BRIGHT blue...like the KY wildcats. (that's the only reason it's been allowed to stay that color for as long as it has...I have 4 guys in my house that LOVE UK basketball! lol) They're not gonna be so happy when it's painted a pretty dusty pink with toile wallpapered shelves! :) hee hee hee! SHhhhh....don't tell...it's our secret!
Hope you have a great week!
Hugs

Tell the truth- You have eaten every last bit of it and there's not a bite left now, is there? I can smell it through the blog here;>) My youngest son's favorite! I make the little mini-loaves because he likes it WITH nuts and his Dad likes it WITHOUT nuts...so half the batter goes in 2 mini-pans (sometimes 3 cuz MamasBoy is so special-shhhh) and the rest goes in the other pan(s). Now that I think about it I have a couple of overripe 'nanas sitting here now calling my name! Diana

I have bananas waiting on the counter and I also have Kim's recipe. Will be making some soon. It looks so good. To bad we don't have smell-a-blog so everyone could smell it.
Have a blessed day.

Hi Sweet Patty!

I have not been in blogland for a while playing with granddaughters and spending time with my daughter, etc..... but I thought I would jump on line today to see what has been going on! Your blog looks BEAUTIFUL! :) Your devotionals are awesome and so encouraging to read! I also read your post about books....I LOVE to read and have spent some good quiet time reading this summer...I am truly grateful for the love of books!! :) I wanted to share some of my favorite books from this summer's reading.... a author I recently discovered is Karen Kingsbury. I have been reading her series: Redemption. It is exceptionally good, written with Gary Smalley. You must read the series...you'll LOVE it! :)

Also read "Faith Like Potatoes" which is an outstanding true story!!! Then Max Lucado's outstanding books: "Fearless" and "In The Grip of Grace"

LOL! I love books....can you tell??! That is all I will comment on for now. However, I agree with the other girls who suggested the Betsy, Tacy & Tib books....I read those when I was a little girl and then my daughters read them when they were little girls (their ages now being 23 & 25). I assure you my two little granddaughters (18 mos & 2 1/2 yrs old) will be reading them when they're a little older! :)

Have a wonderful day and thank you for blessing my day with your sweet blog and ....now I am in the mood to bake!! Your banana bread looks so so yummy! :)

Love and hugs to you!
