Vintage sheets...

I have to be honest, never in my wildest dreams would I have ever considered buying someone else's old used sheets if not for blog land.

Had I not seen them laundered, hanging on the line, blowing in the breeze and then neatly folded in piles of softness, I would not have looked twice as I passed them in Thrift Stores.

Now that I know, that's the first place I head...scouring through bedspreads and coverlets, afghans and bumper pads, hunting and searching for that hint of color and design that speaks to me.

So now, I have a growing pile of my own. Waiting to be used in a new dress for sweet Emily, an apron for a friend, a vintage quilt, a pillow or even as a soft, freshly laundered sheet to snuggle under.

There is an unmistakable beauty in vintage that cannot be produced in the new...

Just as there is a loveliness that comes with age...that has not been earned by the young.

Hope your day is filled with vintage loveliness,
Patty

The sheets are beautiful! Almost too pretty to cut up and use for something else, but I bet they would look pretty in other creations! Now you've got me wanting to look for some!

Yours are beautiful. I've been seeing them on blogs too and hunting for them...not in my area thrift stores. Guess someone gets them before me.
Love your fall porch. I've been away for a while and missed the transformation.

I love the thrift stores too Patty!
Last year I found a wonderful old chenille bedspread that I wouldn't have given the time of day a few years ago. I am getting the urge to head out to the local thrifties tomorrow, uh oh!
Have a great evening!

Amen.
The same holds true for linens and dishes and buttons and books and...

And vintage people are among my favorites too!

Vintage linens are one of my greatest passions and every time I go thrifting, I make a bee line to that part of the store.
