weeds and wildflowers...

I have to laugh...I went out to see my folks yesterday and my mom commented about how pretty my garden looked on the blog.  You will notice I only posted close ups...my garden is a hot mess!  The flowers by the grace of God, come back pretty all by themselves.  What you don't see in the photos are the leaves that need raking, the weeds that need pulling and the shrubs that are about to swallow my flowers up whole if I don't get out there and do some hard pruning!  Proof again, that beauty is all in what you choose to focus on.

Speaking of natures beauty...my dad chaffuered us out to see the wildflowers in the mountains near where they live.  All though we were about a week early, with my mom's keen eye, I did snap a few photos to share...

Some of you know that my dad is facing surgery next week (3/22/2010) for a small spot of cancer they found on his tongue.  It is in the early stages and the doctor is confident that he can remove it all with little permanent side effects.  He underwent a full body scan to make sure it had not spred elsewhere and PRAISE GOD it was not detected anywhere else.  Please continue to pray for him through this surgery as he has other chronic medical conditions that will make the surgery more risky for him.   I am so thankful and blessed to still have both my parents on this side of heaven and I don't ever want to take that blessing for granted.

I hope you take a moment or two this weekend to enjoy nature's beauty...
Blessings,
Patty

I will say a prayer for you dad. I am grateful that I have both of my parents still around. Both sets of grandparents are gone.

I love all your garden pics...I scrolled down to the other post and looked. I am jealous. It is still dreary and under 50 here. At least the snow melted. :) Beggars can't be choosers.

I was in awe with all of your crafting items. I felt like a kid in the candy store. I am glad to hear your dad is doing better. He is so adorable.
