smelling the flowers...

I don't know about you but I often look at the sweet and tidy homes in blogland and wonder how in the world they keep it all looking so fresh and inviting...

Just in case anyone might (for some unknown reason) wonder that same thing about me...

Here are my freshly picked zinnias one day and one rambunctious two year old later...

I really can't scold him cuz he's just like his mom-mom...he loves to smell the flowers.

His little toddler hands just get a little over zealous.  This particular flower was a gift to his mommy...I know, aint he just the sweetest little thing!

Made me remember chubby little hands bringing me freshly picked flowers.  By the time they got to me the fragile stems were usually broken but I always pulled out a little vase and proudly displayed them for all to see.

I bet you have those same kind of memories, too.

Thank goodness there are more just for the picking outside my backdoor.

Thank you all for the heartfelt comments on my last post.  The funeral service was probably the nicest celebration of home going that I have ever been to.  What a beautiful testimony this gentleman's life was...I came away blessed for having gone.

Hope this week affords you plenty of opportunities to stop and smell the flowers and to thank the ONE who gave them.

Blessings sweet blogging friends,
Patty

I would take those petal missing flowers of a perfect appearance any ol' day! :o) My sweet little guy is growing into a young man, no more chubby little hands. :o) Now he delights in pointing out how much taller than me he is. :o)
I hope you have a wonderful week.
Sincerely ~ Tricia

I meant to say "I would take those petal missing flowers "over" a perfect appearance... sorry about that. I need to work on my cup of coffee before posting a comment. smile!

Hello my sweet friend, your flowers are so lovely, but the one without the petals is the one you'll remember the most. :) (and so will his mommy)
Please keep our family in your prayers...my brother is going through the loss of a job and is struggling right now. Pray he finds work soon, so he doesn't lose everything he's worked so hard for.
Hope you have a blessed week!
Missy :)

Oh..I so love those little squished up flowers you get from chubby (and often grubby) little hands! I remember one time when my youngest went out and picked violets and just kept shoving them in his pocket as he picked them. He brought them home and we made a violet "ball" in a see through glass vase. I wish I had taken a picture of it now. Thanks for the smile this morning- Diana

Aww, what a sweet story to accompany the zinnia photo. When my boys were little I often wondered if it was too much to ask to keep things looking nice for more than 5 minutes. Now that the nest is empty, I am finding perfection to be a bit overrated at times :).

Thank you for stopping by, I am so glad you have learned your lesson "Donotapull" LOL The flowers are gorgeous, I always thought if I ever win the lottery I am going to have fresh flowers delivered every week, but truth be told I would rather take a broken flower from a chubby little hand!

I used to love when my girls would pick flowers to give me when they were little girls. So sweet!!! Sometimes it was dandylions, but who cares? It was the thought that mattered. Enjoy your flowers. Love & blessings from NC!

I love that little jar you have the flowers in. I bet he looks adorable running around in your flowers. :)

Those are the momments that we never forgot.
I try to freshen up my flowers every few days ~ they still dry out and leave petals all over the place.
Have a great wednesday
