little dresses...

Have you ever forgotten how much pleasure something brings you...

only to rediscover it years later?

That's what sewing has been like for me lately...

It has been years since I had the urge to place pins in a pattern and begin the process of carefully cutting out the required pieces...

positioning and repositioning each piece so as to utilize each precious fabric to it's fullest...

Cut two of piece A and place B on the fold...

Lining up notches, snipping at curves and pressing open 5/8th inch seem allowances...

and marveling at how such simple steps, followed precisely...
can turn into these...

Sweet, sweet little dresses for dear Emily.

Shhh...their for her second birthday in a few weeks...
If gramma can wait that long!

Happy Tuesday,
Patty

Patty- What sweet little dresses for two sweet little girls! You are such a dear gramma to be making those for your precious babies. You know...I love fabrics...I love sewing...but I do not like the pattern cutting process for some strange reason. Maybe because I am impatient to just get at it! Okay...now you KNOW we have to have pictures of those ON the little ones! Hugs-Diana

What precious little dresses. They are adorable. And I know you had fun making them! Love the fabrics. I really enjoy sewing and I also love to quilt. My Grandmother taught me how to sew on an old tredle sewing machine. Love & blessings from NC!

These are just the sweetest little prairie dresses! I haven't sewn any clothes for a while either... maybe I will again when I have grandchildren.

Hi Patty! I love these little dresses!!! I had made so many dresses for my daughters when they were little....I absolutely loved to sew and you mentioning the details such as 5/8 in seam allowance, etc....brought back such wonderful memories!! :) I honestly am going to dust my machine off....I haven't sew much for years now and I am really getting the bug! Having little granddaughters, I might have to make some sweet little dresses too!! :)
